IBIS and tripod use

IBIS and tripod use

So how does the IBIS work with ripod work? Do I need to turn it off or is IBIS smart so it senses no movement and therefore automatically deactivated? And before someone says RTFM, I did, nowhere in its 999 (or so pages) did I see mentio of that. And before someone says you should turn off lens IS anyway and that in turn will turn off IBIS I have couple lenses without IS.
