Sony 24-70 2.8 or Sigma 24-70 2.8 for A7C

Hey

I am pretty much settled on buying the A7C when it comes out. I'll still wait for some more reviews to come out and if I'm not in a rush, may wait to see if they lower the price in a few months. I will be using it mainly for when my baby arrives, family photos, etc.

I'm thinking on settling on a 24-70 as a go to lens and maybe a 70-200 or 85mm prime further down the road. I don't see myself wanting to change lenses too much or expanding my lens collection beyond that.

I watched the verge review of the a7c where the reviewer had the Sony 24-70 on it just to get a picture of what that combo would look like. Also compared it to the sigma art on camerasize.

The price difference between the two is not a concern. I am wondering which is a better lens overall and which is better for the a7c? The Sony is a larger lens, but is it better overall enough to justify being bigger?

Some additional comments

- Not interested in the Tamron 28-70

- Not interested in any other camera body

- Not interested in shooting primes

Thanks!
