Upgrading from 20D

I've been using Canon gear for a long time. I still have my original EOS 1 film body. My first and only digital body is a 20D. I've built up a nice collection of EF mount lenses including many L series and some EF-S lenses esp. at very short focal length for the 20D's APS-C smaller sensor.

I'm looking to upgrade my digital body, with the primary considerations being on image quality and video capability. I'm looking to spend $1,000 or less on the body. I'm currently think about either an 80D or an RP. I might consider a 90D, since I'd need to spend a bit more for an EF/EF-S to RF converter.

Are there any gotchas I should look out for with the 80D or RP? Should I consider other bodies? Is it worth the extra money for a 90D for my use case?

I haven't looked at bodies for many years, last time was when the M series came out, and I'm clueless about modern digital bodies.

Thanks,

Marc
