So where are the faster lens?
1

In the year 2020, we are still not getting enough faster prime and zoom lens.

Currently, camera bodies are getting more attention in regards to RnD.

Zoom lens are still stuck in f 2.8 and f4. There are some f2 and f1.8 zoom lens but only SOME. They start to become more common but in the year 2020, that is not happening.

Even the prime lens, I think there should be more f1.4 or f1.2 BUT nope, f1.8 still dominates. Even at the price range, f1.4 should be at a price of f1.8 but brands are charging a premium. Another thing, they should start making these prime lens much more smaller. Pancake lenses have shown it is possible.

Sensor could only do so much especially at night, this is where faster aperture lenses can come in to help with that to create better and sharp pictures especially at low light areas.

Some of you may use the physics or even cost excuses but Sigma has shown you can make faster zoom lenses at a reasonable price.

Panasonic has created a f1.7 zoom lens,

Seems like not a lot of motivation in the lens department.
