deal or no deal = No Deal

+2 Dang. For me no 32 MP = No Deal.

It's going to be a fine camera for a lot of (other) people though. Note: I acknowledge that my own use case (macro) is very limited!

Nokishita just saved me $1000 for sure!

Whew Mk1: No deal. Money intact. Whew Mk2: Now the optimist, I think ==> there must be a M5 Mk2 coming down that track, out of sight, around the bend.

If it was coming, it would have arrived a long time ago.  The most logical timing would have been to release it before the M6 II.  The next best option would have been alongside the M6 II.  The M6 II is now over a year old and will likely start to see price reductions around the upcoming holidays.  Canon is certainly not going to build a flagship camera for the M system by slapping an EVF on top of hardware that is over a year old.

M50 Mk2 is not the end of the line. (I don't think that Canon would let the 32 MP be a single use sensor.) I now have 2 reasons to be relieved.

There may be production limitations preventing more widespread use of the 32mp sensor.  I believe the 32mp sensor comes off of the same fab that produces the R5 and R6 image sensors.  The 24mp sensor comes off of an older fab that also produces the R and RP sensors.  The R5 and R6 are critically important to the long term success of Canon and would take precedence over the production needs of any other cameras.
