Nnowak mentioned that he went this route also.
Could you tell me more about your experience with Tenso? (nnowak as well if you're listening).
Did you have any problems with changing the language, etc?
TIA,

Um, I'm going to say if the rumor mill is correct, never mind. Buy a M6 Mark II, done.
The only thing I can figure is Canon is trying to simultaneously dupe some people into "upgrading" (at a profit).
*face palm*
well, we don't know that much yet. but Mark II's are usually not that significant of upgrades.
what CR was posting was more in lines of an entirely new model. even then the specs didn't' make much sense.
Also an entry level Mark II isn't necessarily about getting people to upgrade, it's about continually getting new people to buy.
without knowing more about the specifications surrounding DPAF (does it now work with 4k,etc), and what the 4K is (oversampled from 24MP, or is it still cropped, etc), it's near impossible to state one way or another about this camera - right now.
Some I think were expecting it to be a M6 II with an EVF. and that was simply never going to happen.
NK is 100% reliable; that literature might as well be from Canon.JP direct and should be taken as gospel based off their track record and quality of data. They (NK) have never been wrong about Canon or other manufactures leaks. Ever, it's worth repeating. They have an insider or leak access of some sort.
If you look at that literature closely, the M50 and EOS R are the same "breed": last gen sensor node tech, DIGIC8 CPU. However the EOS R got continuous eye-AF via firmware update, and, improved subject tracking, the M50 didn't. This smells like they are back-porting the AF software module from the R to the M50 and integrating the YouTube streaming module from the G7X Mark III.
Truth told the M50 is an excellent camera, and a GREAT buy, this is icing on the cake. I'm not complaining about the M50 getting the software, this is long overdo.
But, Canon could've made this a firmware update available for existing M50 owners. They're trying to "refresh" the lineup as firmware upgrade in consumers minds does not equal huge leap forward which the EOS R firmware updates have been.
It's a smart move for Canon, but it's not efficient for consumers.
