I have both, and think both are excellent. I haven't really noticed a color difference, but I always shoot RAW (except for some sports), and import into Lightroom with custom settings, which probably erases any color differences. If you're shooting RAW, you can tune the color to your liking pretty easily. With JPEG, it's a hit harder, but still entirely possible. I would go with whichever focal length suits you best, but also plan on getting both eventually, because they are stellar lenses.

+1 Love them both.  Thanks go to Alastair for being such a good promoter last year (I bought the Sigmas on his recommendation).

I too am a RAW-only shooter, so any needed color adjustments get done in post anyway (DPP).

So go with whichever focal length suits you best first.  Then be prepared to want the other as well.    They’re both a joy to use.
