Don't try the R6, because you'll have a really hard time going back to the R. The IBIS and lighting-fast and accurate eye/animal-eye-AF is incredible. If you shoot birds or wildlife, the R should not even be on your list – go R6 or R5.

So why did I go back to the R for mostly landscape?

Color:

The WB on the R6 is great for portrait skin tones, but terrible IMO for landscape. Pick your poison.

Does anyone know how R5 compares here to both the R and the R6?

I've read the R5 color is better than R6 but no firsthand experience. The RAW samples online I've downloaded look good for color.

I don't put a lot of stock in Adobe camera profiles (especially for the R). Personally, I feel like the DPP profile looks significantly better for Canon cameras, but the program is garbage for anything else.

If I had an EOS R, I'd definitely look into making a profile of my own, if I was using Adobe. However with the R5, the Adobe profile is pretty good, only losing out a little to the DPP profile. So its not worth worrying about, and I suspect the R6 is similar.
