I don't have an M50 Canon; my wife does. She has the 18-150 lens.
Do you have (still have) a Sony RX100-7? How would you compare the performance of the RX100-7 to the M50? She replaced, but kept her Sony a6000.
I love the way that the M50 feels. It's been hard not to buy one myself. However, I do have an a6000 too. If I were buying today I'd buy the Canon M50 and the 18-150 lens...instead of the Sony a6--- series.
Hi,
I cannot commend on the a6, but my RX 100 VII is a fine camera to take everywhere.
It is expensive when bought as "new" but when you buy a used one in good condition it is well worth the money!
For critical shots (e.g. landscape or historical building) with lots of detail and in low light the APS-C sensor will still deliver and retain more fine detail than any modern 1" sensor with the lens in use as limiting factor.
The M6 with EF-M 18-150mm has a slight edge in IQ over the RX100 VII, but it is really close up to ISO800. Starting with ISO1600 any large sensor will show a clear advantage over 1".
Thanks so much!
Going back a few years, we travelled to Newfoundland in a small car. I had breathing equipment and a camera bag. So....no space! I used my Canon G9 a lot on that trip. I could have done without the dslr equipment in the big photo bag.
6 months ago My wife bought an M50 with a great lens; I've considered buying the same. She bought it with the intention of shooting video with it....
I'm glad to see your comments on both cameras. M50 and RX100-7.
I agree with your comment about buying used; I bought my RX100-2 used and it was a good purchase once I put a grip on it. They are so slippery without a grip.
I don't have an M50 yet, but I'm very impressed with the M series cameras.
