I have EOS M6, M3 and M50 so getting either:

  • M6 mk II
  • RP

is a logical choice for me, R5 and R6 are too expensive/rare at the moment for me, I am also not convinced that I could live with only 20 MP.

So it is basically down to 26 MP with integrated VF FF or 32 MP crop with no VF.

I would really like a real world comparison of these 2.

So a conclusion of shorts...

Given that M50mk2 is going to be as cheap and cheerful as Mk 1 there is kind of no reason not to get it.

Which brings me back to the original subject... I am probably closer to getting RP than M6.

I would skip the M6mkII and stay with the M50. You can't go wrong with the RP + 24-105 f/4.0. All you could do "wrong" is the timing. It might be smart to wait a while.

Maybe you want to upgrade that M50 one day, but if you like an integrated viewfinder, get an upgrade having that viewfinder integrated, and if it doesn't come, you can always build your RF lens collection further.

If the M50 mk2 has another control wheel I’ll probably be interested.  The lack of external controls is probably my biggest frustration with the m50
