Microsoft Cloud apps shut down by Microsoft update

Microsoft has said it is investigating an outage that brought down Microsoft’s cloud-based office services including the meetings software, Teams, worldwide.

Microsoft reported issues with authentication for its cloud services at around 9.25pm UTC, meaning people were having issues logging into the online services Teams, Outlook and Office. The outage had affected services worldwide.

Fellow travelers have had the same problem with using Adobe Cloude applications if there internet connection is not fast enough. The Adobe server times out the session and if the user cannot authenticate they cannot use the applications.

Cloud applications are fine for unimportant work but inherently fragile. Part of the problem is that these apps use a combination of Web code and mainframe code and there is a dearth of architects and programers that can navigate both worlds.
