Well technically Fuji have been releasing film cameras for a number of years with Instax and I believe that brings in very significant income for them.

No doubt you are correct about Instax but I don't think that was the main thrust of the OP's argument.

The level of investment needed obviously differs between markets as well, digital is clearly the larger market but creating products for it is expensive and highly competitive.
