While the Sigmas are great... I think when buying these lenses we should be aware that one day it might just not work with a newer body.

OTOH that “one day” can be just like “today” and these Sigma lenses will be just as good as they were “yesterday” and all the days before that. That’s been the actual reality thus far.

Having these fast EF-M Sigma primes available adds a ton of capability to the M System, and they pair wonderfully with the M6ii.

Sure, it’s up to the individual photographer to trust in these lenses or not, and to skip these focal lengths or not, but it’s also up to the photographer to bring home the photos that they seek, and/or that others are trusting them to produce.

Ignoring the right tool also comes with a price!

And if it does not work (very unlikely) with a newer body, I'm sure Sigma will release a new firmware very soon after.

And now you can update the firmware yourself with the new UD-11 dock for EF-M mount. (A small price for prolonged life, if necessary.)

Thanks. Ordered!

Can you do updates with EF(-s) lenses with this one + the EF-ef-m adapter?
