Most of my adapted EF lenses give significantly higher FPS on my m6 mk2 than they do on the R6. I’m not sure why Canon decided to put a 6.8FPS limit on the older, and some not so old EF lenses. It’s frustrating, especially when they work quite well on cameras like the M6 mk2, 90d, 7d mk2...

Your saying seems to mean my understanding is correct. My best guess is that it is because Canon has not solved its mechanical shutter lag completely for full-frame mirrorless camera. However, I have no clue with respect to the difference between old lenses and new lenses in terms of AF mechanism when all EF lenses share the same EF mount. IMHO, such lenses as EF 85 1.8 and 135L must be faster than 50 1.8 STM, but the latter is supported fully by R6/R5 while the formers are not.

Do you know the performance difference with the electronic shutter?
