Canon M6 II is clearly the SUPERIOR camera, in term of 32mp advantages & faster C-AF

(but) you already OWN 3x EOS-M camera, so buying yet another is not gaining much.

I would choose RP - not because its a better camera

but because you can EXTEND your options to cover the ever growing (R) mounts lens.

  • Canon is simultaneously being very Aggressive with its new (R) lens releases
  • While simultaneously putting (M) lenson the back burner.

I think ADDING an RP (not replacing yr M) seem to make the most sense.

This was my reasoning behind adding the RP to my kit.

I wanted my first step into FF to include the RF 24-105 F4 L without breaking the bank. I was able to find a new RP kit with that lens for roughly $1700 (Body $850, Lens $850).

If I were to continue moving forward into FF, say with an R6, I now have a great lens ready to go with the RP as a backup. If I don't move forward into FF, I still have a great lens with an M50 style body to support it.

Interestingly, since getting the RP I have discovered that I prefer the slightly larger body size and weight when taking stills. I added the EG-E1 grip to counter the weight of the RF 24-105 F4 L and so far the combo feels great in the hand. Nice and steady for shots needing image stabilization. For video, I still prefer the smaller and lighter weight M6 MkII.
