"Walk around lens" for the M6 ii

I know the obvious choices would be the Canon 18-150 ef-m or the Tamron's 18-200 but since they are quite expensive, i was wondering how would the older ef-s lenses hold up withe new sensor.

So my question is, has anybody experience with the older lenses like the 18-135, 17-85, or any other third party lenses that would fit the "walk around" criteria like the Tamron 18-270 etc. on the M6 ii.

How would you rate the IQ (compared to the newer m mount lenses if you have used both)?

Canon EOS M6
