I wish Canon would make up their mind and put the control ring in the same place on every lens. Some have it on the front, some have it one the back, some don't have it, and the EF adapter adds another location. I never could get used to the swapped AF and zoom rings on the EF-S 15-85mm and EF 70-300mm L. RF lenses added a third control point with no consistency to control ring order or location.
