Best single focal length for video?

I am thinking 35mm as it is very versatile. Another contender is the nifty fifty.

I would like to get a single manual focus lens with clickless aperture ring for some video work as I would like to try it and see why videographers all despise the focus by wire focus rings with no endstops for video. Sure they arent great, but I have made it work thus far, though I barely do any video.

I already own the Sony 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8, I wouldn't mind upgrading the 50mm so Im thinking id prefer to upgrade it than the 35, but I am worried 50mm will be  not wide enough for most video shots.
