Where on earth is it?

Having had pretty good success with my first astro project, Andromeda, I though it time to try another DSO and looking lists od suitable beginner ones thought I'd try the Pinwheel Galaxy, Messier 101, M101, NGC 5457.

My method was to locate Alkaid and Mizar and find the centre point between them. Extract that point upwards to a point that forms an equilateral triangle to the two stars and that should be where the Galaxy is - but it wasn't for me!

I zoomed in a bit, and out a but, continually focussing on visible stars but could see nothing that looked like a galaxy, or anything like it?

and I could see NOTHINGšŸ˜©

Am I in the right place??
