crossview movie of Damselfly using two cameras each 4K 30fps
Re: crossview movie of Damselfly using two cameras each 4K 30fps
No genlock. The cameras are consumer quality and therefore do not have a genlock input. At 30fps there is a possibility of noticeable timing miss-match between left and right clips, particularly if there is some medium to fast movement of the subject. The maximum miss-timing could be 16.6mS ( 1/60 th of a second ). the amount I will get will be a random number between 0 and 16.6mS. In this case the miss-timing was measured to be 5mS and the subject ( damselfly ) is not moving too much.
I wanted to see what the quality of the 3d moving image would be like with the original footage at 4K. I found that the software editor ( Movie Studio Platimun 13 ) would not allow me to process the merged clips at 4K. So I scaled down the left and right clips to be 1920x1080 pixels 30fps which the software would accept. The output merged left and right clip for 3d cross-view is 1920x1080 pixels.
