Apple TV+ has limited appeal, it has had one or two things that I’ve watched (and I’m waiting to see what Foundation ends up like - being an Asimov fan), otherwise I could easily live without it at the moment, as it has very poor value looking at its content

I used to be too - but I re-read Foundation for the first time in decades a few years ago, and was horrified by how 'unfuturistic' it was (sociologically) despite being set 00,000's of years in the future. I thought it was just cynical old me, but immediately after that I re-read Heinlein's 'The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress'. Despite being set only 100 years in the future of its 1960s writing, I found it much more futuristic and sociologically imaginative.

Maybe a slightly different era, maybe to do with Asimovs roots, don’t know, I always enjoy reading them. Perhaps that was his intention. I did last year manage to collect all the Robot and Empire books that lead up to the Foundation series. I suppose you could say they’re dated now, but I find them still good escapism. Personally I don’t try to read more into them, other than them being classic sci-fi stories.

I also like Heinlein, as well as others of that era, Badbury, Clark, and of course Aldiss.
