Canon 70-200 f4 mk2 problem?

Hi all, I've just taken my 70-200 f4 mk2 lens  (new last year) out of my camera bag to see if it will fit my new bag, and I realised that the diaphragm blades were closed right down and that there was a rattling from inside the lens!  I checked the front and rear elements and they were not lose and I couldn't see anything moving inside the lens when viewed through the front element.  I did notice that the IS was switched off, but switching it on didn't seem to have any affect the problem.

I then attached the lens to the camera (5D4) and it seemed to work perfectly with or without IS on?  On removing the lens from the body, all was back to normal, diaphragm wide open and no 'rattle' inside the lens.

Any one come across this before and do I need to send it back for repair?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts offered.
