Why should I choose EOS-M?

Or why should i continue to choose eos-m.

Have been a canon user (crop sensors) for about 15 years now. Currently on the EOS-M5 and thinking of upgrading in the next 6-12 months.

The M6ii looks a good camera and there are a few prime lens that would entice me, but lately for some reason i've noticed a lot of Sony shooters using canon glass which got me intrigued.

I've never really considered other systems as i have invested in glass, flashes etc for canon. But even a quick look at the A7ii it seems like a fantastic camera for a price not far off the m6ii (or more comparable the 90D). It is full frame and has IBIS.

So, for a casual shooter where image quality is the priority (don't do video) shooting landscape, some sports and car photos can someone tell me why i should stick with Canon EOS-M?

I know Canon have the R range, but that is basically buying a full new system anyway.

Thanks
