When using a FF lens on the an A7RIV in crop mode do you also multiply the aperture by 1.6? Example would a 85mm 1.8 FF lens in crop mode now give me a focal range and aperture of 136mm 2.8?

As others have said, the answer is yes and no. The sensor is still receiving the same amount of light, as the lens hasn't changed, its just that since the sensor itself is limiting itself to a crop frame size, it is not actually using all of that light.

Using crop mode is the same as using an APS-C sensor camera, the big difference is the MP. On an A7R series camera, you are still left with 20 some MP, but on an A7iii for example, it is closer to 10 some MP. Which may be fine for shots, but would restrict you from cropping in basically whatsoever.
