I think this is only the case if you load them in Lightroom Cloud on a PC/Mac first and then sync to the cloud (need to test as not a regular Lightroom Cloud user)
I presume you are talking about the Colorfidelity profiles? If so, that's a shame. I've just emailed Colorfidelity to get a definitive answer.
I suppose I could always do a week's trial of the desktop version to install them if I thought they would transfer over to my iPad version of LRCC (and remain there afterwards.
Actually, that would enable me to load up all my old Lightroom presets which I have bought in the past and which I can't get onto my IOS version of Lightroom?
Does anyone know if anything loaded into LRCC stays there on IOS if the desktop version is cancelled ?
John
Lightroom mobile is linked to Lightroom (cloud version) and I’m pretty sure that you need to sync profiles with Lightroom (i.e. not Lightroom Classic) for them to appear on Lightroom mobile.
I’m also pretty sure that they would not be accessible on Lightroom mobile if you do not have an Adobe subscription that includes Lightroom. That is what the literature online suggests.
To be honest I’m surprised that Adobe give so much away with the “free” version of Lightroom mobile.
Just to say I do pay £4.49 (UK) a month for my iPad version, I just don't cough up the extra £5 or so for the desktop variety with higher cloud storage as I transfer everything as jpegs (after processing) to Apple Photos which I use as my DAM. So I'm not trying to freeload off of Adobe, I just don't need anything other than (paid) LRCC for IOS for initial processing. Once in Photos, I can use other software such as Luminar for any additional processing.
Whilst writing, I've just had a reply from Colin Walker of Colorfidelity who confirms his profiles need to be loaded via the desktop version.
So my query remains, if I tried the week's trial of LRCC for desktop and loaded up his profiles (which would transfer to IOS) would they still be available if I then cancelled the desktop version? If anyone knows, I'd be grateful for their reply.
Thanks again,
John
Oh, I didn’t know there was a mobile only sub option. In that case it really doesn’t seem fair if you cannot not use profiles. Maybe there’s some other workaround that I’m not aware of. I’d suggest writing to Adobe also, to ask how to do it and to complain if it’s not. Maybe the trial workaround will work for you but it really shouldn’t have to come to that. Best of luck.
