Samples: Sigma 100-400 DG DN + Sigma TC-1411

Below are some 100% center crops from the Sigma 100-400 DG DN + Sigma 1.4 TC, shot using the S1R.

I just received the TC today, so no real shots yet (still very smoky here in northern Colorado; hope to get some Elk Sunday morning).  In fact, these first shots are a comparison between the 100-400 with and without the 1.4 TC, both at 400 mm.  All were tripod mounted, using a remote trigger, and OIS/IBIS disabled.  Subject matter is my stone fireplace.

All were processed from raw in Capture One v20, and I used C1's "Diffraction Correction" for all shots F9 or over.  Other than that, all settings were as per default.

TLDL - At base ISO, there is a slight loss of detail using the TC, but there is more to be gained by stopping down the lens one stop.  F13 with TC has more detail than F6.3 without (again, with diffraction corrected enabled in Capture One).  Of course, the most detail comes from F9 w/o TC.

F9 (wide-open), with TC

F6.3, no TC

F13 (stopped down one stop) with TC

F9 without TC

I'll post more images as I get them.  Happy to take requests.
