Trend to slow
1

Uncovering a box of my old gear brought this to mind...

When I got my first (entry level) SLR in the mid 70's,  my lens choices were between a f1.7 and a f1.4 50mm lens (Minolta).   My 200mm was f3.5.  I also have a 35mm at f1.8.

My newest lens (2020) is an f4  24-70mm for my Nikon Z6.  Great lens.  And I could spend 2K  on an f2.8 24-70mm.

So I guess my question is..  Are we generally shooting with slower lenses today?  And why the slow down?  And yes,  I know Nikon released a 0.95 NOCT 50mm.  But I am talking generally across all Makes.
