I just saw this for the first time because it's just been recently updated. I find there's a good reason why so many posts go hostile so fast, and it's usually because so many people are so poor at expressing a preference for something without simultaneously denigrating something else.

Case in point: the OP wants the option of additional aspect ratios. But he can't just ask for them. He has to state that the existing options are inferior:

So it's not just a petition which he's asking you to sign or ignore; it's also a statement that what he's asking for is better and if you don't agree, you're wrong.

Personally, I wouldn't care one way or the other whether a manufacturer includes more or less crop options in a camera, but I found the way the request was made arrogant and all too typical of the "what I like is best" attitude that is all too pervasive.

(How far do you think this petition would get at Fuji, telling them that their choice of 3:2 is an unfortunate mistake and that aspect ratios they don't offer are superior to ones they do offer and they'd realize that if only they bothered to try them).
