Having owned a 4800, 7800, 9800 and 9900, based on my experience I would never recommend a x900 series printer to anyone as the heads are a PITA to deal with. The x800, which has the same head as your 4880, are better but I still had to run nozzle checks every day to keep them from clogging, which cost a lot of ink.

I now have a Canon ipf6400 and am much happier. I bought mine used on Craigslist for $400 and though over the years have had to replace both heads ($300 ea on Amazon) the total cost is still much lower because the heads don't plug up as readily and running a nozzle check once a week works out fine. The operating software is very different from the Epsons though and takes some getting used to.
