Good question. I'd replace both camera and lens. The d80 is old outdated design and technology, the lens with its variable aperture will disappoint at its longer zoom range and you're limited to f5.6. The d7100 is so much nicer, the d7200 would be better yet. The improvements are many. For lenses as for the variable f3.5-5.6 models the Nikon 16-85 f3.5-5.6G VR is much better, better yet is the 16-80 but it cost more. If you have 5he money idgo with the Nikon d7200 and 16-80 lens. If money is too tight go with a Nikon d7100 and a 16-85 lens. If you need a flash get a Nikon sb700, it can be used off camera and triggered by the built in CLS.
