Water droplets. The scientific approach!

So, thinking of all the variables that would lead to many hundreds of failed shots, the one consideration that I thought paramount, was available light. The sun was shining, and the air was still for an outdoor opportunity. But to maximise the situation I also set up my thingamabob-whatchamacallit. On this particular Tuesday, the sun was about 92,800,017 miles away. Yet my lamps at about 3 feet away seemed to make not a scrap of difference. The electricity meter spun like a gyro though!

Right, and here goes. Camera on a tripod, and everything on manual.

Lashed to the other tripod, my trusty fishing rod, with a weight just above water. Something to manually focus on, and a guide for the pipette to target those water droplets.

Ready to press the shutter on high-speed burst, and..........

Oh! The sun has just gone in. Make coffee.

OK; we’re ready and; what’s this? ‘The card cannot be read. Re-insert or format.’ Well that’s just great. Removes camera from tripod, the focus point all set up, now ruined.

This time we are ready to go. What can possibly hold me back. What does that say on the back of the LCD... ‘Change your battery’. Oh for goodness sake.

Now I know these results are not exactly stellar, but I gained from the experience, in the hope to do better next time.
