It's about how the metals get rationed in the camera body design. Hence, the Titanium X-Pro 3 body invoked by Zakaria. It's 494 grammes, versus 703 for the KP, for example.

Functionally, Magnesium and Titanium are the same, in terms of weight and robustness, but Magnesium is getting lighter in other industrial applications. Not in these comparisons.
