Timer and Bulb Mode?
1

Hey i just recently bought the Nikon p1000 and i am new to the whole wirld of photography, and i have no idea what 'timer mode' is in shutter speed.. then it clicks to 'bulb' and i know that with bulb mode the shutter stays open for as ling as it's pressed.. then if you keep it pressed nothing happens for a further minute untill you hear that second fainter click noise then the screen is visible again.

This happens in timer mode but instead of taking 2 minutes the whole process is wrapped up in around a minute. Was just wondering if someone could shed some light on the difference between the two modes and if i would need a shutter release cable if i was to do a long exposure or if there is a setting within the camera to operate bulb mode? I hope i have made sense. Sorry if i haven't

Matt
