Canon’s Japan website has quietly moved the M5 to the “discontinued” section. RIP.

Hopefully this is a sign that M5 mark II is coming, not that they will no longer produce a SLR-format midrange M body.

according to the email i get from Canon UK some time back the M6mkii replaced the M6 and the M5....

A 32MP M5mkii with AF as good or better than the M6mkii and more external controls would probably make the RP look less attractive

if you want a VF in a M we will have to wait for the M50mkii

the M5 is still listed on Canon UK

The RP will always be more attractive because of better lens selection. If you want smaller sensors go with Fuji or MFT, because the have a better selection of native lenses. Canon nor Nikon have constant aperture zoom lenses for APS-C.

I went with a M6II over the RP because the M6II with a 22MM will fit in my vest pocket.

I like the RP but I already have a real good tripod camera, my 6D.
