Of course the articulating screen has it’s pros and cons, but it makes it easier to use the video features without an external monitor and the dual mode IBIS can save you money on a Gimbal, that’s easily $700 difference if you don’t need the external 4:2:2 10-bit 60 FPS 4K recording.

Nice to hear such a ringing endorsement. I’m curious about exploring the screen articulation, as this is one of my main deal-breakers.

People keep saying a flip-out screen is better for video. How?? What does it allow for that a tilt-up/down/side hinge doesn’t allow for? Selfies are the only thing I can imagine. The flip-out can interfere with the cables, takes the eye away from the middle/lens of the camera, and if someone gets serious with video, don’t they use an external monitor anyway?

The flip-out justification feels mostly like tradition from old camcorders, which did it because the body didn’t allow for anything else. I have yet to hear a video person explain why this is better, unless they’re a vlogger.

Personally, I think the X100V style is perfect for run-and-gun b-roll video, if only it had stabilization. I hope Fuji eventually releases an X-Pro or X-E with IBIS and a tilt screen. And I think the X-T line already had the perfect screen. This one should’ve gone onto the X-H line, it it’s continued.
