You might be OK.

I've used some APS-C kit lenses on my old Minolta film cameras and found that the image circle was usually only visible at the short end (in the case of an 18-70 Minolta APS-C lens, there were no dard corners from 35-70mm) - might well be the same with the EF-S, but you will only know if your R does not automatically go into crop mode (or if it gives a choice in the menus).

The 15-85 might not perform brilliantly, as this is outside the spec it was designed for, but the results might be interesting all the same...
