What the rumors don't say is what sensor will be in it. I'd bet my lunch the M6 II sensor is...

(M50 II) I'm not placing any bets on that one. The T8i/850D only got the 24MP sensor.

Agreed. Aside from the crazy high USA launch price, the M50 has been targeted at a much lower tier than the T8i/850D/X10i. The M50 appears to be positioned much closer to the cheaper SL3/250D/Kiss X10. Basically, the M50 targets the entry level consumer that wants an EVF.

I don’t believe this is the case. The Japanese marketing name “EOS Kiss M” is a pretty good indication that Canon considers this body the rightful heir to the mainline Kiss (Rebel) series. (To date, the M50 is the first and only mirrorless camera to bear the Kiss name.) The ultracompact Rebel SL series seems to be more akin to the M100-M200 series, which is clearly aimed below the M50.

It would be nice if the rumored M50 mark II gets the 32MP sensor from M6 mark II, but it would not surprise me if they use the old 24MP sensor again. Looking at history, it took the Rebel line until 2017 to get a DPAF sensor, a full four years after it first appeared on the 70D.

I don't see how the m50ii gets the same sensor as the current m50. Just dont think it would sell.

the target audience for the M50ii will just see 24MP which is the same  ish as most of the competition in this price bracket

There is no argument for FF vs APS-c (or m43) with shallow DOF..as it's a law of physics and a very subjective personal thing if you want to make use of the shallow DOF only FF can offer
