Problem with hot shoe flashes is all that weight on top of the camera.  I like potato masher types....much more secure and better balanced to hold and shoot...also you can release and shoot w/flash free from camera at will if they offer a quick release.  Look at Sunpak 611, 555, 522 etc.  all have ext non ttl corded sensors.  611 only auto to 400 ISO, 555 auto to 1600 ISO.  but both work and have about 50% more output than current Godox shoe mount units....also all take HVP for fast recycle and 1000s of shots.  Also usually available in good shape for $75 or less....need the bracket and the sensor, check on 555 and 522 for battery holder...and 611 for battery cover.
