From the 645 M5 images taken with 8 different lenses posted on my website (and so many right here) since December 2016, it is a difficult task to choose a favorite. Besides the images themselves, there are so many stories behind the where and why they became to be that add to their appeal. But the one that was total serendipity, a shaft of light breaking through the darkness under the canopy along the Appalachian Trail, revealing a chance meeting with a beautiful creature of Nature, that always gives me a smile. Her back was to me as I came around the bend, but she turned right into the light just long enough to let me capture her portrait before she went about her business. It made my day.

Another favorite image appears at the end of my 2018 video of the three months I spent following the lives of a new family of Mute Swans on Teatown Lake. The video was recorded entirely with the M5 and the EF 100-400mm L (with and without the TC 1.4 II). They were always watching me as I was watching them, and we became like family. This family portrait was taken when the cygnets were only a few days old:

Days after they were born, the cygnets venture out far from shore on Teatown Lake for the first time. Daddy's little girl never ventured far from him.

Thanks for this thread. It was fun going through the memories of all the images.
