Awesome shot. Would it be rude to ask about how it was taken? I just ordered a 7-stop ND filter to try some long exposure landscape shots, and I *think* you may be using one to smooth out the water and capture the lightning. Anyway, I find your picture inspirational, so if you're willing to share, I'd love to learn from it.

Thanks,

I'd be happy to talk about how I took the image. First it's actually a multi-exposure image, so I took 3 exposures at different times to add more lightning bolts I had captured to the image. They were all combined in PS using the Automate > Load Files into Stack option. I let PS auto stack them basically.

As far as the settings, I actually didn't need an ND filter. It was about 5:00am in the morning, so it was decently dark. The entire sky caught fire as the sun rose and lit up the scene but it was still plenty dark enough.

ISO100, f8, 1.3s.

Here's one of the RAW images SOOC saved as Jpg so you can see what the RAW file looked like.

After the merge I just went through my edits, first in LR and then in PS adjusting basic settings such as Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, etc.
