This whole thread is discouraging as it seems we are really in an orphaned system where no one wants to invest in designing a good, "prosumer" super zoom.

I don't get it. We have a ton of good "prosumer" zooms for m43. Including a few super-zooms. What do you think we're missing?

If I had my wish it would be a PL Mark II where they improve the mechanics and go to a more normal tripod collar that actually rotates in either direction like all the others.

I've not had any issues with my PL 100-400. Great lens. And I don't even like zoom lenses.

That's not happening. Oly has clearly been lazy with their new entry..

They probably just crippled it to avoid competing with the upcoming "pro" version. I hate when camera companies do that, but they all do that. (Except Pentax, I guess.)

As much as I like my G9's,, I'm thinking of abandoning ship but not sure where to go. Canon R series with the new 100-500 L is a possibility. The lens is not fully reviewed yet but is no monster weight wise. Of course it's still only 500mm.

There's no option for me if m43 goes away. This is as big of a system as I'm willing to lug. I don't mind bigger cameras, but they'll stay at home, which kind of defeats the purpose.
