X-T4 doors ?!
2

Just a passing thought as I watch YouTube reviews of the X-T4 in the background of my editing:

The port/slot doors on either side of the camera: the removable door on the port side of the X-T3 has been replaced by cheap plastic flaps. The card slot side of the X-T4 now features the removable door. WHY?!

I'm just thinking out loud here - I don't claim to know anything about the ins and outs of camera production lines. It just seems totally apparent that this is a mistake; is there any feasible way that Fuji designers would actually intentionally arrange the flaps/doors like this??

The only explanation I can fathom is a miscommunication between the designers and manufacturing factory, or a misreading of the blueprints, something like that. It makes zero sense to put that removable piece on the card slot side (unless I'm missing something?), especially given how popular that door was for videographers on the port side of the X-T3. Who wants to expose their cards?! Lots of people want to expose their ports. Fuji surely knows this.

It gets me wondering how exactly design specifications are outlined for production. It reminds me of the Challenger catastrophe in the 80s, which, if I'm not mistaken, came down to an inconsistency in screws used (metric vs imperial measurements).. Ok, this isn't like that at all, but somehow it led me in that direction...

This issue with the X-T4 doors belies my confidence in Fuji, albeit slightly. It's such a silly thing, but somehow representative of quality control and corporate communication. I would love to hear the PR team explain this, and hopefully just admit the mistake.
