Things i am ok with, but could use some work:

  1. DPP. It’s slow and clunky, but it’s the only way to maintain Canon’s colors. Adobe’s default color profiles are absolutely hideous and they currently do not offer a matching profile.

I just purchased an R5 on release day and this is the biggest complaint I have about it. It's very disappointing. The JPEG colors are fantastic, especially with sunset color gradients. The Adobe Color profile looks good in some situations, to terrible in others. I bought R5 color profiles from Color Fidelity and have been trying version's 2 and 3. They often come closer to Canon's color profile, but are also sometimes completely off.

I fully agree with you on DPP being slow and clunky compared to Lightroom. I'd rather not have to export a bunch of TIFFs to just keep the color.

I shoot JPEGs to my other card slot, I guess I'll start using them more often. There's a few other threads in this forum discussing this issue. Apparently there's a problem between Canon and Adobe that neither will address. The R was the last Canon camera to get Lightroom camera profiles made for it. We should be able to edit RAWs with the proper color we prefer.

Other than that big issue, the R series has been a delight to shoot on 🙂
