This whole thread is discouraging as it seems we are really in an orphaned system where no one wants to invest in designing a good, "prosumer" super zoom.

I think you have two good prosumer lenses here.  Not perfect maybe but competitive and capable of producing great results.  It will be nice if Panny work on a mark II but one that remains at the competive price that many of us can afford.

Let's adapt another lens, not improve a thing or even make it fully compatible with our own system, and charge a premium price.

Competively priced in Europe, why Olympus does what nobody else does and charges a premium price in the USA is a mystery.   Maybe because m4/3s has struggled to break down the US demand for big cameras.

As much as I like my G9's,, I'm thinking of abandoning ship but not sure where to go. Canon R series with the new 100-500 L is a possibility. The lens is not fully reviewed yet but is no monster weight wise. Of course it's still only 500mm.

Wherever you go there are negatives/limitations.
