To me, the information on how the Olympus 100-400 lens IS complements the in-camera IBIS of the E-M1 III is really confusing. If I read it correctly, the combined lens and IBIS is less effective than the IBIS alone.....if this right, or am I missing something?

@400mm I found the lens only IS not sufficient

@400mm IS using IBIS with E-M1 MK111 didn't seem to make any difference whether the IS on the Oly 100-400mm was switched on or off.

@400mm the Pany 100-400mm OIS is excellent and i have IBIS on the E-M1 MK111 switched off.

I find it very strange that Olympus have produced a new lens with this IS anomaly, maybe a future firmware will rectify the issue..

With my PL100-400 on my E-M1 first edition I found the lens OIS to be superior to the IBIS. With the E-M1 II it was a horse apiece, and with the E-M1 III I use the IBIS only. With Olympus E-M1 III I would suspect that the Oly 100-400 would be best with the in-camera IBIS only if the reported sync IS is inferior.

Gary, i don't doubt that this is true through the majority of its focal length?  But I'd like to see some careful tests at the long end
