Given the panny gives sharper text in the exact same shooting scenario of the Olympus it tells the OP at least that the oly isn't better, which is what the OP was trying to assess in the first place.

Again, it doesn't mean that!

Maybe OP's arm was tired. Maybe he'd had a strong espresso. Maybe his magnesium levels were low. Maybe his wife/boss/neighbor had been yelling at him. Maybe he had a floater in his eye. Maybe he was just unlucky when he made those few shots with the Oly.

Only a proper test -which this was not- would have told him the potential of the lens. And if that potential should not bear out in practice, he could try to optimize all relevant settings (stabilisation, etc) and/or improve his technique to still get the most out of it. It's possible that he or his camera don't get along with that lens, and that he'd rather use a different one. That's just fine, just don't use its sharpness as an argument if you haven't tested it properly.

Personally, If I want to know how the lenses compare in test bed situations I will consult something like Lenstip or another testing facility. What is important (and only important) to me is how the lens performs in my hand for my use case. The rest is just pure academics, interesting but not definitive, IMO.
