You can't test sharpness using hand-held shots.

Really, it doesn't make sense. Except maybe if you regret your purchase and you want to rationalize your remorse.

Many years ago I had 2 similar lenses. One was much sharper when bench testing, but to my amazement always produced sifter shots when used handheld out and about.

I remember the lenses overlapped on focal range, but we're different lengths and weights.

The lens that bench tested by far the best felt awkward handheld, whereas the 'poorer' cheap lens setup felt a dream to hold. Hence I constantly achieved my best images with the poorer lens. ... Much to my frustration!
