It may have yellowed over time. If it is the case lay it out in the strong sunshine for a while and it will go away. You may read that it is radioactive, but nothing to worry about. No worse than a glow in the dark wrist watch.

That's not the case for the 55/1.8 AFAIK. Some of the 50/1.4s were the radioactive ones.
