But for the majority of legacy lenses, you don't need any lens corrections anyway, since the image was recorded as is directly to film.

That's one approach, but I also use EF-m4/3 adapters and adapt many of my lenses to EF. That way I only need 1 focal reducer/tilt adaper/teleconverter/extension tubes for many different mounts.
