My recommendation is to take the Oly 100-400 out and photograph our feathery friends. The photos you taken of text may prove to you the Pana is sharper but that to me doesn’t relate to real world shooting. When I got my 50-200mm 2.8-4, straight away looking at the picture of the robin, I realised this lens wasn’t a shorter and faster 100-400. The images were sharper, there were a 3d pop to them and there appears to be more clarity to the images. Before my test I did see someone photos of a Rhino taken with the 50-200 and I didn’t know if it was his post processing skills or the 50-200 was a sharper lens.

You may want to save your money and get the Oly 300mm or see what Panasonic brings out next year.
